BMW 5 Series key replacement starts with identifying the car and its key type. The E39, from approximately 1995–2003, uses a bladed key. E60/E61 cars from around 2003–2010 moved to a slot key. These generations use EWS and CAS respectively, making the registration more useful than a description of the badge alone.
F10/F11 models, roughly 2010–2017, and G30/G31 cars, around 2017–2023, use remote or comfort access keys. Some G30 versions may have a display key; we will confirm the details for your car.
