Older Housings Deserve a Closer Look
Wear to older key housings is a common reason for repair on the 911. Before requesting a complete replacement, tell us whether the problem is with the housing or whether you have lost the key altogether. That distinction helps us discuss the appropriate work rather than treating every enquiry as a new-key order.

Which 911 Generation Can We Make Keys For?
The generation gives us a starting point for Porsche 911 key replacement, although it does not settle every enquiry. Our main Porsche page explains the wider make coverage. For 911 key programming, the important limit is around 2015, rather than the end of an entire generation.
996, 997 and early 991
Approximate generation dates are 1997–2005 for the 996, 2004–2012 for the 997 and 2011–2019 for the 991. Spare keys and all-keys-lost work are available at the car up to about 2015, covering the 996, 997 and early 991.
Later 991 and 992
Later 991 cars and the 992, introduced around 2019, are largely dealer-only for key work. Send the registration before arranging a visit so we can establish whether mobile 911 key programming is within our coverage. We will not present the whole 991 generation as supported.

A 911 spare key enquiry is worth making while you still have a working key, especially if its housing is showing wear. Our spare car key service comes to your home, workplace, roadside position or car park; you do not need to bring a supported car to a workshop. Key production starts only after we have verified ownership using your V5C and photo ID, so keep both documents ready.
We give the price before travelling and require no upfront payment. If the work proves different on arrival, we explain the revised price first; declining it carries no call-out charge. Typical arrival is 45–60 minutes, with appointments and assistance available between 8am and 11pm, seven days a week.
