View jobLost a Suzuki key, a Jimny with only one key, or a Swift remote that's stopped working? New Forest Auto Locksmith cuts, codes and repairs Suzuki keys where the car is parked, across the New Forest.

Some Suzukis need a specific procedure to accept a new key, which takes a little longer than a routine programming job. It's nothing to worry about, and it's all done at the car on your driveway or wherever it's parked, but it's one reason a Suzuki key isn't a quick add-on from a key-cutting counter.
Once the key is accepted, the remote and, on keyless models, the push-button start are paired and tested. See Car Key Programming.

The Jimny is popular with people who use it properly: farms, Forest tracks and green lanes. Its keys are relatively simple, but they lead a hard life, getting dropped in mud, left in coat pockets and lost in long grass. A lost Suzuki key out on a track is a common story, and the car is usually miles from home when it happens, which is exactly when a locksmith who comes to the vehicle helps most.
A lost Suzuki key for a Jimny is replaced at the vehicle, with the blade cut to the locks, the chip coded, and the missing key deleted where the system allows. If your Jimny has one key, a Suzuki spare key now saves a long walk later. Both jobs are explained on our Lost Car Keys and Spare Car Keys pages.

The Swift and Vitara use remote keys on most versions, with keyless entry and push-button start on higher-spec cars. Suzuki key replacement on these covers the start chip, the remote and the keyless function, each tested before we leave.
If a keyless Swift or Vitara stops sensing its key, a weak battery is the first suspect. Hold the key against the start button, and the car will usually start while you arrange a new battery. If it still won't recognise the key, it's tested at the vehicle, and the fault is explained before any new key is quoted.

Suzuki remote keys often crack at the blade or wear through the button rubber. If the electronics are still sound, a rebuild into a new housing keeps the original programming and costs far less than a new key. See Broken Car Keys.
